About Us
Welcome to the Florida Panhandle! We are an unopposed, active duty-only residency at Eglin Air Force Base Hospital. Each class has 11-12 residents. Our facility’s inpatient services include adult medicine, surgical specialties, obstetrical care, newborn care, and intensive care. Outpatient clinics consist of family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, mental health and substance abuse, internal medicine subspecialties, and surgical specialties. Off-site rotations locations include Sacred Heart Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room, The Studer Family Children’s Hospital, Florida Department of Health Clinic, and more.
What makes Eglin unique?
Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) clinic where residents have dedicated time to treat patients using osteopathic manipulation and acupuncture.
Eglin is launching a Lifestyle Medicine curriculum that is integrated into scheduled didactics sessions. Interested residents will be able to complete additional requirements through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and sit for their boards to become certified Lifestyle Medicine professionals.
Duration of Pregnancy (DOP) Program in which residents will provide care for at least ten pregnant patients from their initial OB appointment through delivery and post-partum course. Allows for unparalleled continuity of care and robust experience in prenatal, antenatal, and postpartum management.
Opportunity to complete an Area of Concentration to deep-dive into a topic that is of interest to you. See the Curriculum tab for more information.
Proximity to Hurlburt Field, home to Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Allows additional experiences in flight medicine and special operations.
Volunteer opportunities with local organizations and events such as the Crossroads Free Medical and Dental Clinic, Okaloosa County Health Department, providing medical services at Iron Man and Marathon races, St. Andrew Sports Physical Day, etc.
